A collection of speculative animatics we made for pitches

This was the first real test we did of this type which got us our first music video. We were so nervous about shooting we actually ended up shooting the entire video (with us as the band) in preparation for the shoot. Homework is good.

This was rejected but is still one of our favorites. They went a completely different direction with the final video.

Rejected! This would have ruled. Brent killed it in this test.

Another reject. So killer though. Awesome to know someone in the Rolling Stone's camp saw this at least.

Several of these shots are almost exactly like the final video. Love this video.

I think we made the ties for this out of white gaffer tape. Same with the shoes. SO much fun making these things but man do we look like nerds compared to the real Hives.

Yet another reject. They ended up shooting this around the corner from our studio at the time probably just to be cruel. Great test.

Rejected! I think they ended up shooting a video on an oil tanker for this track. Bummer.

This was our first pass for the Mars Volta. A submarine and close encounter video still needs to happen at some point.

Obviously didn't happen. We tried to pitch this "frozen city" concept a few times. Not right for the track ultimately. In our defence this massive hit seemed like an indie gem when we first heard it.

Rejected! And by a band we don't love!

Skinny Deville told us we should drop him in and make the rest of the video as good as this test. So we did. Our second music video.

Rejected! I don't even think they made a video at all for this single but doing something in the iconic bond title sequence style would have been amazing. The cool thing about these tests is that we kind of get to make the video (or a glimpse at least) regardless of whether they hire us or not.

Bummer. This would have been cool. An early pitch for us. I think the band dug the test but couldn't afford it (or something).
